I used to watch this show with my sister all the time.
Big Early Fan of YCDTOT and miss the show all together.
WOW!this is a great site.i thought i was the only person in the world who remembered this show.thank you for the wonderful flash back.
I was a big fan of this old show long ago brings back a lot of memories. I remember watching it and by looking with all these familar Canadian child stars who knew how to make people laugh for comedy and the family viewing. Now that all of these performers have grown-up and changed. You could tell that it was for Alanis Morisette who's now a juno award winning musical artist performer. Like her recently best known 1995 debut album called "Jagged Little Pill". Boy did it ever sure pay her music career off. My favorite memories from that series was barth the restaraunt chef cook saying "I Heard That" or when some cast member says this "I Need Water" or "I Don't Know" some green mud slime pours on their head. Now that's the funniest and best part of that sketch they use for a punchline. I hope they'll bring show back in reruns someday in the future like air it or broadcast on canada's The Comedy Network Shaw cable channel 47 from Thunder Bay where I live. Because it was a great comedy series compared to as "Saturday Night Live" american version like "You Can't Do That On Television" with John Belushi's hilarious samuari scene or killer bees improv skecthes he does so well!
"You Can't Do That On Television" was such a great show. I remember when I was a kid, I didn' care what I wached on tv as long as I watched YCDTOTV. The skits and everything on the show were great. I hope it returns on re-runs sometime in the future on television so I can see the shows again. Thet were so great.
I have the following episodes to trade:
1) The Worst of YCDTOTV (Includes the infamous Blooper Reel)
2) Fads & Fashions (Christine McGlade in a kilt)
3) Parties
4) Technology (red/green squares)
5) Illness
6) Enemies & Paranoia (The Russians!)
7) Commercials
8) Life in the Country

I remember coming home from school and my sister and I would race to the t.v. to watch YCDTOTV. It was on at 4 then again at 7, when we watched it again! I cried when I got a letter in the mail, telling me the show had ceased production. In my years of watching and my one letter to Alastair Gillis, I got an autographed letter and picture of my fave star. Wish I knew where he was now!
This was a great show. The should show re-runs from the past. They should also come out with a brand new show.
I miss this show
I loved this show as a kid!! I was young, so I only have vauge memories, but this site helped bring some of 'em back... more pics of kids getting sick in the diner!!
I love your page. I loved this show so much that I wrote to the producers to see if I could get on it. I unfortunately lived too far away from Canada. I will check back often. Thanks for a blast from the past!!
YCDTOTV fan forever

I love the huge new gallery with 33 pages. However, couldn't you put in more slime pics? Don't get me wrong, I like the pics, I just think there could have been more slime pics in the gallery. Just a thought, thanks for your time.
I have an episode on tape to trade, "Fads & Fashions", (Christine McGlade in a kilt!) Let me know if you have any tapes to trade.
This is a great site. I loved the variety and number of pictures here. Keep up the good work. Also, just like many other people, I would be interested in acquiring video tapes of the show, professional or home recorded. If you have any or know of someone who does, let me know. (Make sure to put YCDTOTV in the subject line of the email so I don't think it's junk mail and delete it.)
Wow! It is pretty cool pictures of Les Lye! Lye is now about 75.

This is excellent. I haven't seen this show in ages and wish it was back on so this is the next best thing.
good improvement in the pic galary
I have been looking for a site on YCDTOTV for a while.
Thanks
P.S. I'm very lazy so I usually abreviate it as YCDT
I've been hearing a whole lot about Nickelodeon making a spinoff of You Can't Do That On elevision and calling it You STill Can't Do That On Television. Could someone please tell me if these rumors are true.
I wish they would put YCDTOTV back on the air.
Great page! I can't believe I havn't seen it till now. I'm so glad there is still interest in the show. Keep up the great work!
I loved that show to death!!! I loved it so much that I would skip band practice (rock band) or would be really, really late and would piss my friends off just to see that show. I would love to talk to anyone who is/was into the show as much as myself. I'm a 31 y/o male. Eric
This is a really great website!!!! Keep up the good work!
I think this is a great website, and I would like to know why they took the show off the year and what happened to the cast of the show. Thanks,
Lane Director

Hey everyone! I was gonna put this in the ads section, but I thought I'd write it in the guestbook instead...A bunch of people said they are looking for free episodes. Well, I've got a whole bunch of episode, 76 to be exact, and I'd be willing to copy them...absolutely free...for anyone who wants them!! Just email me (yes, that is my real email address) and I'll copy my whole collection for all of you...in SP speed!!!! Now, either I've completely lost my marbles, or...(say it with me) "This is just the introduction to the opposites!"
i love you, moose!!!
i love you, moose!!!
This show was awesome!
My favorite t.v. show in the 80's. I was in 2nd grade!!!
wut is it that took 1 minute to download the main page? what is the thing on there that takes up 1.7 mbs?
More slimy pictures!
you all gotta get more pics
I think this site is a big rip-off of YCDTOTV.com. You pirate their pictures, you pirate their links, you pirate every idea they ever had. Oh, I take that back... You didn't copy their good English. YCDTOTV.com rules this pirated site. Thanks for nothing
Only the picture part is almost correct, and Ric from the YCDTOTV-WEB knows the reason wy. What do you mean with this: "pirate their links, ... every idea"?
This page is just a rip-off of www.ycdtotv.com ... yup yup yup! I give this website an F (an A+ if they didn't rip anything off from YCDTOTV.COM)
I like it
I love YCDTOTV. It was the best show to watch when I was growing up. I wish they would air it again, since it's classic 80's comedy. This show certainly has a great following on the Internet, but I hope that video clips and movies are made available, as I have no taped episodes. Either that, or everyone should pester Nick to air the show again!
cool. anyone interested in writing new episodes email me.
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED "YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION." I HAVE ALSO MISSED SEEING IT. I HOPE THEY BRING IT BACK SOON.
This was one of my favorite shows growing up. I remember "patiently" waiting for the week when they would show new episdoes. One of my favorites was the episdoe where you could press the screen and vote on who got slimed (ah..to be young enough to believe in interactive television) I only wish my parents had kept my videotapes of the show.
I don't think I need to mention how *good* anybody who grew up watching this show would feel given a chance to see it again. Anyhow, I just found out yesterday that one of my best friends, a seemingly stable sue, used to be frightened terribly by the execution skits. I'm sorry, but that's beautiful television.
Ever since YCDTOTV went off the air, I think Nickelodeon hasn't come back with a show like that since. YCDTOTV was funny, unpredictable, and had real people. Nickelodeon has way too many cartoon shows and not enough real people. YCDTOTV was a break through show and I wish the re runs would air again someday. I enjoyed watching the re runs June 26 and 27 but I just didn't get enough of the show then! Alasdair Gillis is the best!
great pic gallery.
I love YKDTOTV. I think it was a cool show, and I wish Nick would bring it back.
I love You Can't Do That On Television, it is my favorite television show. I wish Nickelodeon could have re-runs of the show. It would also be great to have current photos of the cast members.
I would really like to send fan mail to Ms. Lindores. Hell, as a part-time aspiring director/writer (amongst other things), I'd like to cast her in one of my own films somehow. Someday.
Whats up all you ycdtotv fanatics. First i would like to know if anyone knows how to obtain ycdtotv tapes, Second i would like to say i really enjoyed the 3 eppisodes played on the 26 and 27 of june '99. If you wanna talk about it just IM me
